Alexandria, Virginia Speed Traps
Huntington Ave and Metroview Parkway
Speed trap in front of Huntington Station at the intersection of Huntington Ave and Metroview Parkway.
Potomac Avenue behind the Potomac Yard shopping center.
Officers sit either in the movie theater parking lot, across the street at the shopping center, or on a gravel service turn-off just to the north toward Crystal City. This road is posted 25 mph even though it’s four broad lanes and has a separate bike/ped trail. Look out, it’s a trap!
S. Columbus / Gibbon St
South on Columbus Street turn right onto Gibbon St. Officer said there is a sign no right turn 3-7 pm M-F. I am not from this city and usually go there on weekends to shop and eat. I just happened to be there shopping on a Thursday eve about 5pm. Made the right turn and at least 3 police cruisers waiting to pull over people for making the right turn. I did not see the signs at dusk. Definitely a trap for people not from Alexandria. If I drove there every day I would know it was a trap.
Duke Street
In front of Whole Foods the Motorcycle Officers are off of their bike and hold the radar up and wave you over. License and registration please……
Duke and West
No left turn between 7-9 am. They wait at the stop sign at the next intersection and wave you over after you have already turned.
