Police cars, marked and unmarked, often sit waiting for drivers coming down the hill (Northbound). Police motorcycles will also sit in the median at the top of the hill or along the sidewalk about a mile south of the hill.

He profiles for sports cars.25MPH zone. The officer is "not" visible in any way until he steps out to tell you to pull over.
Old Courthouse Rd.
The trap is located a few blocks down Old Courthouse from Gosnell Rd. on a extra wide section of the road. Speed is posted at 25 but average safe speed is 35 – 40 mph. Vienna police park on curb behind another car or with trunk open. They are famous for revenue raising traps rather than real police work.
Chain Bridge Rd (123) entering Vienna
Vienna police sit on the side road at the bottom of the hill where the speed limit changes from 35 to 25. This is a divided 4 lane road and the speed limit here is unreasonable. The trap is located on 123 just after you leave Tysons Corner.
Fairfax County Parkway/ South Run Receation
Going south bound on Parkway late night, county cop will sit in median with lights off. You don’t even see him until he gets you.
