Fairfax, Virginia Speed Traps
Chain Bridge Road near Stratford Avenue
Going southbound on 123 from the intersection of Route 50 and 123 towards City of Fairfax. Right at the intersection of Straford Avenue there is almost always a speed trap with 2 motorcycle officers shooting RADAR from behind trees on a side road. They trap you because the road quickly goes from 2 lanes to 1 lane and most people will speed up after merging. Sneaky trap!
Guinea Road near Stark Road
Police car on side street aiming at cars travelling southbound on Guinea Road. Road is two-lanes in each direction and it is very easy to exceed the 35 mph speed limit.
State Route Rt 29/Lee HIghway near Fairfax County Parkway
On Rt 29 approaching the overpass for Fairfax County Parkway over Rt 29 (Lee Highway) by Costco and Home Depot – from either direction – the road widens and straightens which encourages speed. Police position themselves around the overpass for the Fairfax County Parkway – near rush hour and especially later in the evenings.
