Norfolk, Virginia Speed Traps
Kempsville Road near Little Creek Road
They hang out around many of the curves and the intrances to hospital and school. The houses on this road are set wayback and the only excuse for thr 25 mile speed lmit are the many curves.
Indian River Road near Ford Drive
Driving west on Indian River Road, passing the (Former) Ford Plant and Ford Drive, Norfolk Police station a trap on the right. When you come over the small elevated bridge, the speed limit changes from 45 (Chesapeake) to 30 (Norfolk). There is one posted sign just as you pass into Norfolk City limits that state the 30mph speed limit, but most everyone cruises at the 45mph resulting in mass tickets. I have seen three different patrol cars giving tickets at the same time. If heading towards Norfolk on Indian River Road, as soon as you pass the small elevated bridge, slow down! Norfolk City Police will be waiting!
Azalea Garden Road near Little Creek Road
They tend to park just around one of the many curves.
26th Street near Lafeyette Boulevard
Police cars are stationed on both sides of the 26th street bridge
HAMPTON Boulevard near BRIDGE
Norfolk police love to sit in the median of Hampton Boulevard behind shrubs at the north end of the Lafayette River Bridge, near Claud Lane in the morning. This is at the entrance to Norfolk Yacht & Country Club. They usually sit at the south end in the afternoon, hiding behind shrubs on North Fairwater Drive. The best thing to do is ensure you’re below the 35mph legal limit before reaching the top of the bridge. I travel the road to/from work every day and see someone pulled over at least every 2-3 days.
