Danville, California Speed Traps

The officer sits in the parking lot of the Greenbrook HOA Pool parking lot. As you come down the hill headed toward Sycamore Valley Road, he gets you on Radar. His patrol car blends in with the other cars parked in the parking lot, so you don’t see him right away.

Officer Mike sits on a side street or driveway waiting with his radar gun to trap you…. will not hear any reasons,will just hand you a ticket.

A cruiser will be sitting on the shoulder facing southbound as you come from the fire station. He will be shooting K-band radar in both directions. This happened on 6/30, so you can expect this at the end of each month.

CHP sits at south end of only straight road suitable for passing in a driveway hidden. Speed limit is 45 and if you exceed 45 to pass you get ticket. Straight portion is so short if you go max 45 you will never get around the slower car. I was ticketed for 63 even though I told officer increased speed was only to pass.

Every few days a CHP car with radar will park in the median as you leave Danville on Camino Tassajara, past the Ballfields road in the new development opposite the east gate of Blackhawk. He positions his cruiser so the radar catches you right as you are going around the bend in the road and it’s an area where people are speeding up since Tassajara Road is fairly open.
