Interstate 805 South at end of bridge near Interstate 8 Crossing

San Diego, CaliforniaOct 18, 20080 Comments

CHP sits at the end of the FWY bridge going over mission valley southbound. This is a good place to get caught because it is a straightaway and there is a rather steep grade right after the bridge. This can be anyday, anyime in the morning Saturday or Sunday. If you stay about 65 you should be fine, any slower you can lose too mush momentum and stat slowing down before the hill and cause traffic.

I am a Sheriff Deputy working in 4S Ranch. I conduct high radar and Lidar speed enforcement for west and eastbound lanes of Camino Del Norte at the bridge of Camino San Bernardo. The speed limit is 55mph. I will write a ticket to anyone over 70mph. I have caught multple vehicles over 70, some over 80, and a couple over 90 …. including 98mph. I average 10 speeding tickets each night. Consider this your expected warning.

The CHP Patrol car parks under the bridge concealing it self in the shadows so drivers will not see them.

Ashford St. Street near Beal St. Street

They hang out behind cars and especially if there is a van or truck they can hide behind. Then from about 2-3 blocks down they radar your car and then jump out in the street and nab you! The thing is…there is a school 2-3 blocks down and it’s 25 mph then as you get to him it’s 35mph. He’s there most every day with at least 2 cars pulled over. They really need to put out signs saying school ahead! Then we would know that it’s changing soon. Same guy hides down the street in a big bush and gets you there too. It’s at the intersection at Eckstrom & Balboa! Watch out!

Calle Cristobal / Sorrento Valley Blvd Street near Camino Santa Fe Street

San Diego, CaliforniaJul 21, 20081 Comments

From the intersecton of Camino SantaFe all the way west to the Rail Road tracks in Sorrento Valley.
Recently they have erected speed monitoring displays that trigger K/Ka band detectors. However they still sit on the North side and South sides of the road and run instant on Radar traps. And they are jerks about it even though every 4 way intersection is traffic light controlled and the entire roadway is divided by wide, raised pavered medians with clearly marked cross walks at the signal controlled intersections.
45 mph is far too conservative for this length of roadway.
