Colorado Springs, Colorado Speed Traps

Patrol cars park on side streets usually at ATMELS shift endings/beginnings………around 7 AM and around 7 PM. The marked speed limit is 30 miles an hour. It is unrealistic and hard to do. No houses face the street and the streets are very wide. You have to literally ride your brakes all the time.

Just as you crest the hill heading south bound on Powers Blvd just past Dublin Blvd the police will be sitting in the center median.

About 4-5 times a week (M-F)while going to work, or out on lunch there are 3-5 police officers on motorcycles targeting people as they go down the hill on southbound Academy Blvd Just before Maizeland Rd. The Posted Speed limit on Academy is 40mph, but because it’s a steep hill anybody going 40mph or less is seriously tailgated. I have almost been hit a few times by following the speed limit on this hill. The Police are usally in the parking lot at the Offices At The Park.

A lot of motorcycle cops are catching speeders on Stetson Hills just west of Pederson road. They will hide on a side street and you can’t see them until it is too late. I saw 4 of them last week in that area.
