Chelton Street near Garden of the Gods /Fillmore

Colorado Springs, ColoradoMay 17, 20061 Comments

Motorcycle Officers (two at a time) very often set a trap on Chelton Street between Garden of the Gods and Fillmore during the mid-day lunch hour. They hide on the side streets at the bottom of the downhill curve. Speed limit is 30mph on this long stretch heading south from Garden of the Gods to Fillmore, so by the time you get to the bottom of the hill and you are trying to slow down….Boom! They-get-ya.

Mount View Road near School Crossing

Colorado Springs, ColoradoMay 16, 20060 Comments

Mount View in general should be travelled at the speed limit that is posted as you NEVER know when an officer is going to be hiding in one of the MANY residential roads. There is usually a motorcycle cop in the summer and a regular car cop in the winter hiding on one of the residential side roads before or after the school crossing sign. There usually is a cop hiding when the school lights are flashing and when they ARE NOT flashing so BEWARE! Just do the speed limit on Mount View, you are warned!

Interstate 25 near between N. Academy and Fillmore exitscan be seen going south bound

Colorado Springs, ColoradoApr 07, 20060 Comments

A marked police car will be sitting off to the right of the road, if traveling south on I-25. They park up in the hilly area behind the trees and brush. I first noticed it when I just moved here, and I didn’t even think that was legal. If you are speeding, they radio into another officer that is sitting farther down the highway in the direction you are traveling. Yes, they get people who are traveling both directions.

Navigation Drive near Brigantine Drive

Colorado Springs, ColoradoMar 27, 20060 Comments

Cop waiting ("hiding") on one of the two cul-de-sac.
Typical subdivision speed limit here is 25 mph, but
nobody drives 25 mph. So the cop(s) are exploiting this downhill drive which tend to push vehicles past 25 mph.
