Longmont, Colorado Speed Traps
Clover Basin Rd, just east of Fordham Street
On the north side of the street there is a parking lot with trees along the raised berm by the sidewalk. Police have been known to congregate there & have MAJOR ticket parties. The speed limit is 35, and traffic regularly exceeds that – especially the eastbounders who have just come out of the S-curve, and expanded out into two lanes. My last ticket was there from a motorcycle cop (and I was on MY motorcycle at the time).
HWY 66 & North 75th
This area is a long time hot spot for speed traps. The cops normally sit on the southwest corner of the intersection there. Watch your speed there and throughout theses two streets!
First Ave. Just before Martin St.
Cop sits on south side of First ave sometimes in a commercial parking lot. Sometimes on city owned property. Speed limit is 30 mph should 35 mph.
Nelson Road and Korte Parkway
They hide facing Nelson Road on Korte Parkway (the road on the south side of Nelson, between Hover and Sunset, next to Nelson Road Storage). They also can be in unmarked cars. BTW, Longmont cops Always give the ticket!
Nelson Rd. Halfway between N. 63rd St. and U.S. Hwy. 36
White suburban police have been pulling people over in the 35mph zone near the curves at the top of the hill. Coming out of the 35mph zone is downhill and they are stopping people when they think they are out of the 35mph zone…just feet from the 50mph sign.
