Jacksonville, Florida Speed Traps
US Highway 1 near Between Greenland Road and Durbin Road near St. Augustine Rd.
FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) and JSO (Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office) run radar quite frequently esp. Northbound as you enter Jacksonville. They like to have Motorcyle Patrols and have seen them pull over 3 or 4 cars at a time. Speed limit northbound from St. Johns County changes from 65 mph to 55 mph as you enter Duval County/Jacksonville then 45 mph as you approach Bayard. The area is very open and overall rural between Bayard and St. Augustine. Speeds tend to be much higher than 45 mph. Another weird scenario is that further north toward Avenues Mall with much heavier traffic the speed limit raises to 55 mph.
Interstate 9A near Buttler Blvd and 9A Intersection
Just south of John Turner Butler Blvd on 9A there is an overpass. The police sit in the median, on the north side of teh overpass. They sit there every night. They also give 9mpg over, but nothing more. Mostly, they wait for people coming north on 9A….but they still nail south bounders too.
Interstate 295 near Buckman Bridge
Sitting on either end of the bridge in the median, sometimes in the middle (of the bridge) just above and over the peak. Area also patroled by bike cops.
Freedom Crossing Trail near US Highway Phillips
When heading east on Freedom Crossing Trail, an officer will sometimes be parked around the curve, after the bridge. If you are speeding, he will get you after you round the curve as he is not visible to you until it is too late.
Lane Avenue near Interstate 10
I received a ticket for using bright lights of $118.50 The town of Jacksonville is bad. Not speeding just targeting out of town People
