Jacksonville, Florida Speed Traps
Interstate 95 near Owens Road
This speed trap is located 1/4 mile north of exit 363 (Airport Exit / Duval Road). The Owens Road Overpass has little traffic, and generally FHP sets up shop on the overpass and underneath it. You will have to look for an FHP officer positioned on the right side of the overpass (driving south) handling the Lidar unit. Four to five uniformed motorcycle officers will be positioned underneath the overpass by median to pull out and pull YOU over. This particular trap happens most often during November/December, and then sporadically throughout the rest of the year. Please be aware, the speed limit on I-95 there is 70MPH, and that if you are doing 80 or more, they’ll more than likely pull you over.
Baymeadows Road near Between Southside and 9A, usually more towards 9A.
JSO will set up Lidar unit in the median, the trees in the median provide some nice cover. There will usually be several 3-5 motorcycle units stationed in one of the turn lanes to pursue vehicles. They will usually run this setup for 2-4 hours.

Going east on Baymeadows Road, about 1 mile west of 9-A, at the East Hampton subdivision, cops are parked on the south side of the road, with laser/tripods set up, and will flag you down to pull over in the left turn lane. The speed limit is 45, but hardly anyone drives under 50. Look for the cops on a nice day (no rain) and usually on a Wed. or Thursday toward the last 2 weeks of the month (quota time).
