Jacksonville, Florida Speed Traps
Interstate 295 near 103 rd Street
as you top the overpass after the 103rd street on ramp state patrol in median with ladar or radar they use both.
extra state police cars lined up on right emergency lane to give out the tickets.
Atlantic Boulevard near Intracoastal Waterway
Keep your speed down westbound over the Intracoastal Waterway bridge as you enter Jacksonville from Atlantic Beach. JSO sets up a ticket factory there a couple of nights a month, usually on Saturdays when they can get DUI too. The speed limit is 45, but flow of traffic is closer to 60 at times. Sometimes there will be an unmarked car off the side of the road at the top of the bridge (JSO has jurisdiction throughout Duval County–they can do this) nailing you with radar, but more often there’s a van pulled off at the bottom and a uniformed officer manning a radar/laser unit. Either way, there are always 5-7 JSO cruisers pulled off in various business parking lots nearby waiting for you, and they will get you here. Not much of a cushion is given, and if you are pulled on a Saturday night, expect field sobriety tests to be administered.
John Turner Boulevard near Exit Number Kernan Eastbound
Directly behind a center median as you come over a slight hill just past the Kernan exit. Also going westbound in the morning around 10:30 AM speed trap with radar/laser a well.
Holiday Road near Bimni Street
If you enter the nieghborhood from Beach Blvd. the first left is Holiday. The J.S.O. hide over the first ‘hill’ at the three way stop and just past that in peoples driveways! They claim that ‘the old people’ in the neighborhood are ‘beating down the door at the substations’ to come out and enforce. I got a ticket and i am fighting it.
Interstate 95 near Interstate 295
Traveling both North and Southbound on I-95, from around the Fernandina Beach exit all the way out to 9A and 295. Florida Highway Patrol(CrownVics and Bikes), and JSO. Most days it’s just one or two vehicles moving up and down the interstate however at least once if not twice a month they will set up with as many as 10 Bikes and two cars at a blind spot comming over one of the many bridges or overpasses in this area.
