Miami, Florida Speed Traps
117th Avenue near 28th Street
Enforcement usually on weekend nights, northbound traffic. Metro will be right around big bush on corner and nail you with lidar. Always use a “blocker”” if you can. simply do not go over thirty.”
SW 1 Avenue near US Highway 1
A bunch of Miami-Dade and /or City of Miami cops will stand at the turn into US1 with their radar equipment. This is a diverter to US1 with a 20 mph speedlimit.
Biscayne Boulevard near 36th Street
Biscayne boulevard and 43rd street just beyond entrance to residential area accross from Walgreens/Publix mall. Usually 4 motorcycle cops waiting and ticketing northbound traffic in evening rush hour. Speed limit is 30mph which seems very slow for that road which had just widened with a passing lane. Of course they are more vigilant at the end of the month quota season (and a cop friend of mine agrees that they do have quotas).
Interstate 95 near 112 Expressway
HOV lane enforcement several times a week on northbound I-95 right after the 112. Not only do they get people coming in from the HOV flyover from eastbound 112, they pull over people crossing over the very wide merging area into the HOV lane.
Sunset Drive near 67th Street
Usually one officer sits behind the brush next to the church and catches everyone with the radar gun, especially near the end of the month. So be careful!
