Wright Avenue, from Belle Chasse Highway to Stumpf Blvd.
On the east side of Wright, on the parking lot of the metal buildings, about 1 block north of Belle Chasse Highway, sit Harry Lee’s finest. The JPs keep vehicles out of sight and the JP shoots Laser from behind a business sign. Sometimes 2 or 3 deputies to keep production up. They hit you coming from either direction – it’s a clear shot. The speed limit is 20, and they’ll write up 23 – that’s verifiable. One block over, an identical street (Whitney)carries a 30 mph limit. Go figure. Beware of turning off Belle Chase onto Wright from either direction. Belle Chasse is 45 mph and it’s easy to not brake substantially, while making the turn, with Belle Chasse traffic trying to run over you. The JPs have you as you cross the tracks at the Wright/Belle Chasse intersection.
