Livonia, Michigan Speed Traps
Stark Road between Hines Drive and Plymouth Road
The Livonia police sit in a driveway, up next to the house, out of sight of southbound drivers. You will not see the police until you are already in their sight or happen to glance back up the driveway. This should be totally illegal, using private property to "hide" waiting for the "victim".
Southbound 275 between 6 Mile Rd and Ann Arbor Rd
I was just reading the article in the Livonia Observer where you rate Livonia No. 1 in speed traps. I can tell you firsthand that the weekend after there was an election to keep the police and firefighters, my husband and I were traveling and saw 3 cops at this location with radar guns catching speeders. They would radio another cop a little ways down the road and sure enough, he would go after them and give them a ticket. Then the same day on the 1-96 overpass on Newburgh (Schooldcraft and Newburgh) there was another cop doing the exact same thing.
Middlebelt and Curtis
Police car sits on Curtis at the light, waiting for anyone to run light, and speed trap with radar guns.
How do I know this. I watch them from my front window. They are there most days, especially during rush hour.
Curtis Road just west of Farmington Road
Officer sits on the south side of the road facing east. This is a residential neighborhood that has a large Day Care approximately 2 blocks west of Curtis.
7 Mile Road East of Newburg Road
Officer sits on the residential street on the south side of the road. He is facing north. The speed gun is pointing West. This trap shows up about once or twice a week in the late afternoon hours.
