Cary, North Carolina Speed Traps
Ederlee/Regency Drive near Penny/Tryon Road
Speed limit 40 where it would normally be 45. Cops drive through all the time and I’ve even seen them sitting on the median in the trees. Cary cops all too happy to pull and ticket for 5+mph over.
US Highway 1 near Interstate 40
On US 1 southbound, just past I-40 (near Crossroads Shopping Center). Sunday mornings have particularly active enforcement; I’ve seen as many as 5 Cary Police Cars.
SW Maynard Road near Kildaire Farm Road
Cary Motorcycle Officer likes to sit on the side of the road in a very dark shaded spot, very hard to see.
If you are coming from Kildaire Farm Rd toward West Chatham, the officer will be sitting on the left side of the road right after you pass Plantation Dr. It’s like a small paved spot where he can park his bike. See him there on a regular basis.
West Chatham Street near Between High House and Maynard
Police sit in the old seafood market one block away from The Cary Tavern and Grill between the hours of noon and 5pm, usually on the weekdays, sometimes on the weekends.
Carpenter-Upchurch Road near High House Road
On Carpenter-Upchurch road, heading away from Green Hope High School and approaching the light at High House. Speed trap is usually designed to catch students during lunch hours, and after school. Also, speed trap in the Retirement community next to the school. Cary cops are there at least 2 times a month. Times: 11-1, and 3-3:30.
