Mississauga, Ontario Speed Traps
Cawthra Road near Queens Way
You come down the hill (going under the underpass) approaching Queensway (going South) and there is usually a cop with his radar gun pulling people over. The speed limit is 50 but because you are going downhill, you are always going over. Beware
Eglinton W Avenue near Creditview Avenue
Travelling west on Eglinton Ave W, one street light west of Creditview there is a cruiser waiting on a small dead end street called Barbertowne Rd. You can’t see them because there is a train overpass with a fairly steep decline. They clock people speeding down the decline and then step on to the street to attempt to stop the vehicle. I see them at least 1-2 days a week there.
Hurontario Street near QEW Expressway
Southbound Hurontario, as you emerge from QEW underpass. A cruiser will be parked close to construction site on your right. Speed limit is 50, traffic goes 70.
Also southbound Hurontario, 1-2 blocks south of QEW. Usually during PM rush hour, also weekends when the weather is nice.
Rathburn Road near Elora Drive
Police officer hides with radar gun behind bus shelter on south side of Rathburn. Picks off vehicles travelling east on Rathburn, just before the east entrance to Elora Drive off Rathburn, just west of Confederation Parkway.
Mavis Road near Dundas Street
Traveling south on Mavis Rd above Dundas St. There is a long inviting stretch of road. They usually stand at the north-west corner of Mavis and Dundas and point the radar gun north up Mavis Rd.
