Sheppard Ave. W, East of Bathurst at bridge

Toronto, OntarioMar 24, 20100 Comments

Eastbound traffic on Sheppard Ave. W going down the overpass (above the park) are regularly monitored by a (sometimes undercover) patrol car which sits in the lot in front of the first apartment building after the bridge on the south side. Usually 10 over and you’re still safe. They have a great angle down onto the bridge and they’re hidden by the trees at the end of it. You can rarely see an officer with a radar gun just to the side of the trees. I’ve even caught a second patrol car waiting at the park entrance on the bridge to catch westbound traffic, but only once.

Yonge Street at Goulding (south of Steeles)

Toronto, OntarioMar 23, 20100 Comments

Speed trap is set up at Goulding for southbound traffic. They also nab anyone in the diamond lane with less than 3 people in the car in rush hour. They get many more for this offense than speeders but they also will pick off any blatant speeders.

Mount Pleasant and Elm Ave

Going north over the brige after entering Mt Pleasant police
hide behind the holes on the top of the small hill
Limit is 50 – recently changed from 60 – thus the trap

400 – Black Creek – South of 401

Toronto, OntarioMar 21, 20100 Comments

When you go south over the 401 the speed drops to 80 k and police sit right at the Jane off ramp , then as you go further south it drops to 70 k at the next bridge and police are waiting under the next bridge. Same thing going north but not as often as south.

Lake Shore Blvd E (at the Boardwalk Pub Parking Lot)

Toronto, OntarioMar 20, 20100 Comments

Usually @ least 2 officers, with laser or radar. They set up behind a road sign and can’t be seen until you get within about 200 metres and by then they’ve got you. They have a clear shot along Lake Shore all the way to the light @ Coxwell. They’re usually there @ rush hour, but sometimes off hours/weekends. If there’s not traffic, set your cruise for 65 KM and just coast along the Lake Shore after you get off, or get out from under, the Gardner. There’s at least 3 places along there where they like to set up.
