Toronto, Ontario Speed Traps
Scarlett/Dixon Street near Lawrence or Royal York
There is commonly a speed trap on Dixon road, just as it bends into Scarlett, driving East (which turns into South right after the bend).
I have seen 3 cars pulled to the side at one time.
Islington Street near Dundas Road
Traveling south down Islington, make sure to watch out for the cops pulling people over right before Dundas. This is a 50 road and they love to nab them here.
Bayview Street near Sunnybrook Hospital
Just after the Northen Enterance to Sunnybrook Hospital by Glendon College there is a patch of grass. They often are on there. They are often in stealth or unmarked cars, so if you see any cars there, slow down. Also, just after that on Bayview,a little Lawrence there is a bridge, after the bridge going Northbound there is a lawn on Cresent School’s property. They hide behind a tree there and nail you speeding on the bridge. You can’t see them from the bridge unless you make an effert to look. Going Southbound after the bridge, just before Lawrence, beside Toronto French School, there is a bend to go up onto Lawrence. They will hide behind the curb and once again you can’t see them unless you search like a hawk for them. My advice is to slow down and watch when you pass CNIB and resume your normal driving past Cresent School going Northbound, and the other way around going Southbound.
St. Clair Avenue near Scarlett Road
A unit will setup in the Parking Lot of "Danier Leather" monitoring Westbound traffic.
From Midnight on to 3am.
I have an aerial view of the action from my apartment as they pull one after another…
So, be carefull from Jane to Scarlett.
O’ConnorDon Mills Road near Don Valley Parkway
Make sure that you make a full stop before turning Right (North) onto Don Mills for the DVP entrance. I made a rolling stop and turned and was pulled over for failure to make a complete stop at a red light before turning. They label it as a community safety zone where there are no obvious signs posted and the fine is $365 + double points. I realize that it is my fault for not making a complete stop – but it is a complete farce with this hefty fine etc.. The police wonder why we resent them so much.
