Knoxville, Tennessee Speed Traps
Hiawassee Avenue near Lincoln Park Church
The police will sit in the Lincoln Park Church parking lot. The church hides the parking lot if you’re coming from the east. The speed limit is reasonable since it is a residential area.
James White Parkway near South Knoxville Bridge
Police love to hide on long drawn on ramp which is right after the court house on your left and the women’s basketball hall of fame on the right, and right before you hit the south knoxville bridge. This is if you are coming from the city to the county.
US Highway 129 near UT Hospital at Overpass
KPD and State Troopers sit under the overpass to UT Hospital on Alcoa Hwy. ALSO, just past the National Guard Base at the boat ramp. They will set up at the boat dock and radio to officers around the corner. I heard about 1 a minute for an hour one night. Speed Limit: 50 MPH Most are ticketed above 60 MPH.
Bradshaw Garden Street near Pleasnat Ridge Road
if you use pleasant ridge and cut to clinton hwy. via bradshaw garden road, do 30 mph as posted. this is a winding road with hills and curves. kpd uses side streets to radar speeder.
Interstate 75 South near Mile Marker 112
Interstate and maybe federal highway, City police enforce 55 mph with radar and pacing the vehicle in front of them. My son was ticketed by pacing by Officer. They are city officers on an interstate, and the ticket holds up in court. And they will fly by you and back off the road to nail you (watched that) so watch for city patrol on the interstate 75 north and south, above Knoxville TN.
